Our responsibilities encompass the processing of all building-related applications, conducting thorough inspections, and issuing occupancy certificates to confirm that structures are safe and ready for use. We, as the Building Control Division, serve as the critical link between various municipal departments and the public, facilitating efficient communication and service delivery regarding building plans and related inquiries.

Services Provided:
Application Processing: All online applications are handled by our department, where scrutiny fees are calculated, and applications are distributed to relevant departments for further action.
Building Inspections: We conduct detailed inspections at various stages, in terms of Regulation A22 of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act 103 of 1977, of construction to ensure compliance with the Act.
Occupancy Certificates: Once a structure is completed, we issue occupancy certificates to certify that the building is fit for use after final inspection requested by owner in terms of Section 14 the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act 103 of 1977 of.
Public Assistance: The public can visit our help desk during business hours for assistance with building plans, any concerns related to the erection of a building and any other related inquiries.
